Ok, este es el plan.
Mientras mi hija está con escarlatina
yo me pesco una angina que me
deja de cama desde hace tres días!!!
Genial para dibujar!!
(bueno, no es que la estoy pasando de maravillas
solo intento ponerle onda porque sinoooooo)

Manos!!! y si señores, las manos no son lo mío,
generalmente las escondo todo el tiempo
me dan mucho trabajo,
pero he decidido enfrentar al fantasma.

I've got angina and I'm on bed for almost three days!!!

(well, this is not funny but I try to put
my best mood)

Hands!!! to me is the worse part.
They take me a lot of effort
and I'll try to catch the ghost.

Es increíble.

Él estaba ahí, quietito esperando.

Una pincelada, otra y otra más.

Un papelito por aquí, una línea por allá.

Y de pronto de hecho a volar!!!

It's incredible.

A piece of paper around here, a line there.
And suddenly goes to fly!

Técnica Mixta!!
Hace muuucho que quería probar
con muchas cosas a la vez.
Pues bien acá está el resultado.
A partir de unos recortes de revista,

(sin boceto previo)
seguí agregando acrílicos, lápiz blanco
y marcador negro.
Me encanta el resultado de la improvisación...

Y se los super recomiendo!!!

Retomo el desafío luego del fin de semana.

Hace mucho tiempo que no usaba un 6B
y crayones y bueno como me encantan las texturas

quise experimentar si podía conseguirlas con ellos.

I love textures and I wanted to try if I could
get them with these new materials.

Algo de color!!

En este caso el reto fue hacer el personaje

directamente con el pincel y los acrílicos

sobre el papel, sin tener referencias de un dibujo debajo,

solo guiándome por el boceto de la izquierda.

Así surgen varios problemas, como: que pintar primero?,

y si me paso de la proporción? ya no se puede arreglar.

Trabajar con el error también está bueno!!

In this case the challenge was to make
the character directly with the brush and acrylics on paper,
without a drawing below as a referer.
Guided only by the sketch on the left.
So many problems arise, including: what should I paint first?
and what if I do wrong the proportions? can't fix anymore!.
Working with the mistake is also good!

Estación 1: Feria de Bologna 2008

A tan solo horas de haber aterrizado en Buenos Aires después de muchos días recorriendo el viejo continente, comienzo a contarles desde el principio: la Feria de Bologna 2008.

After several days travelling around the old continent and just after a couple of hours after my arrival to Buenos Aires, I start telling you all from the beginning: Bologna Book Fair 2008.

Les recomiendo la crónica experimentada de Poly Bernatene que con gran lucidez relata el paso a paso de esta experiencia: el antes, el durante y el después de la Feria (imperdible).

Bologna 2008 fue mi primera vez en esta gran Feria y la experiencia fue maravillosa! 

It was my first time in the Bologna Fair and the experience was wonderful!

madrugada del domingo preparando todo: cómo será? les gustará? qué nervios!!! - On Sunday early morning getting all ready: What's going to happen? Will they like it? I'm a bag of nerves!

El primer día no pude salir de mi asombro, entrevistas, idiomas, culturas... Al segundo día cambié el orden de mi carpeta, fue el día más intenso. El tercero tuve menos entrevistas y aproveché para recorrer las muestras, ver libros y conocer nuevas editoriales.

The first day I couldn’t get over my surprise: a lot of interviews with publishers from all over the world, different languages, different cultures and different aesthetics. On the second day, the more intense, I complete changed the order of my portfolio. Finally, on the third day I had some time to visit the stands, exhibitions, have a look at the books and get to know new publishing houses.

Para el cuarto día ya no me quedan energías. Antes de ir a la Feria visité una maravillosa expo de ilustradores portugueses, luego en la feria compré algunos libros y todo terminó muy temprano. 

When the forth day arrived, I was almost out of energy. Before going to the Fair I visited a wonderful Exhibition of Portuguese Illustrators. Once again in the Fair I bought some books and all finished very early.

El balance no podría ser más positivo: hice muchos contactos, conocí ilustradores maravillosos de todos lados, ví miles de libros, recibí felicitaciones, recomendaciones y también encontré editores que no estaban interesados en mi trabajo. Todo ayuda, todo te hace crecer. 

The balance could not be more positive: I made a lot of contacts, met wonderful illustrators from all over the world, discovered thousands of books, received congratulations as well as advises and found publishers interested in my work. Everything helps, everything make us grow.

cuarto día, yo feliz!!! - Forth day, myself happy!

Además este año Argentina fue país invitado de honor. Tanto la muestra de originales como el catálogo recibieron innumerables elogios. Que alivio! Salió todo bien!!! 

This year Argentina was the Guest of Honor. Both the original artwork Exhibition and the Catalogue received a lot of compliments. What a relief! It all turned out perfectly!

Gracias a todos los que trabajaron para que este sueño haya sido posible: a mi hermana Romina por dejar todo para ayudarme, a mi cuñado Luca por su seguridad y por darme una mano a cada paso, a Diego por acompañarme y registrar todo, al Foro de Ilustradores, a los colegas por los consejos y por los hermosos momentos compartidos.

Thanks to all that worked to make this dream possible: to my sister Romina, for leaving everything to be at my side, to my Italian brother-in-law Luca, for giving me confidence and help at each step, to Diego, who accompanied me and register everything, to the Foro de Ilustradores de Argentina and colleagues for the unselfish advises and the beautiful moments we spent together.

Otra cosa que me resulta dificíl es que el personaje
se vea siempre como la misma persona, ja!
Igual creo que esta vez no me fue tan mal....

A pedido de mis amigas Bloggeras!! que siempre me alientan he decidido unirme al Desafío Creativo!!! esta invitación la hizo Gina Perry, luego de una conferencia a la que asistió, en la que afirmaban que bastaban solo 21 días para formar un hábito. La idea es dedicar 15 minutos al día para ejercitarse creativamente, tratando de desarrollar habilidades o aspectos todavía no explorados. Puede ser la utilización de materiales distintos, probar perspectivas nuevas, temas que no abordamos habitualmente... jugar, crear, un ratito y animarse a salirse de lo que nos es cómodo y fácil.
La ilustradora Alicia Padrón está haciendo una lista de todos los que formamos parte de este desafío. Vos también formá parte!!!

Due to the request of my blogger friends who always support me, I decide to join in to the creative challenge. The talented illustrator Gina Perry start it. Ok, este desafío me viene bárbaro ya que estoy empezando un nuevo proyecto. En esta oportunidad estuve probando diferentes ojos para un personaje que estoy creando. No sé porque aún no me siento cómoda con como deberían ser lo ojos de mis personajes.

Ok, the challenge fit me so well since I'm starting a brand new proyect. This time I was trying diferent kind of eyes for a new character. I don't now why I not feel confortable with the eye on my characters yet.
